Economic Developments in the Italian Regions. Short-term dynamics and structural features, No. 23 - November 2013

The November update of "Economic Developments in the Italian Regions" shows that, in a cyclical situation marked by great uncertainty, more favourable signs have emerged since the summer. These can be attributed mainly to an improvement in the indicators of the business opinion surveys in the Centre and North, due to the resilience of export demand.

The update contains six monographic analyses of regional differences in: firms' innovation activities; the proportion of bankruptcies; international trade in services; maximizing of an area's artistic heritage; the dynamics of labour income; and the new constraints for local government following the constitutional reform extending the balanced-budget principle.
