The vignette, impressed in blue, carries in the centre a large curled picture frame depicting a bust of Italia. The vertical sides of the vignette show two trophies: the one on the left composed of instruments relating to chemistry, physics, astronomy, geodetic surveying, and navigation; on the right, instruments and products proper to sculpture, architecture, painting, music, drama, and ceramics. Along the top side of the vignette, laurel branches; at the bottom, two grape vines with leaves and bunches of grapes and two cornucopias overflowing with fruit and flowers.

Dimensions: 215 x 124 mm. (measured to the outcroppings, not counting the borders and the counterfoil).
Paper: cerulean watermark.
Characteristics: with counterfoil.
