Banca d'Italia - Roma, 06 June 2014

The prize ceremony is held on 6 June at Palazzo Koch for the 20 high school students who came top in the national competition for the Olympiad in Mathematics and Informatics.

The winners are decided together with the Ministry of Education (MIUR), the Italian Mathematical Union (UMI) and the Italian Association for Informatics and Automatic Computing (AICA).

With this award the Bank of Italy hopes to give a concrete sign of appreciation to students who achieve excellent results in these subjects. Investing in the education of young people is a key factor in developing the knowledge-based economy. These talented young people have been given a study holiday abroad to develop the subject area in which they excelled and to learn or polish their skills in a foreign language.
