Today, at Palazzo Koch in Rome, the Bank of Italy hosts the conference "The Mezzogiorno and economic policy in Italy". Giorgio Napolitano, President of Italy, will attend and Governor Mario Draghi will open the proceedings.
The conference has three sessions, on the private sector, the public sector and regional development policies. It will conclude with a roundtable moderated by Deputy Director General Ignazio Visco.
Copies of the book Mezzogiorno e politiche regionali, which brings together basic research in the field, will be distributed.
