Giuseppe Marchiori - Director General (1847-1900)

After qualifying as an engineer, he volunteered to fight with Garibaldi in 1866. From 1880 until 1892 he was Under Secretary for Finance and Public Works, in charge of land reclamation and water management. In 1894, shortly after taking up the post of President of the Società veneta per costruzioni pubbliche, he was appointed Director General of the Bank of Italy. He died suddenly in November 1900.
