Representative Offices and financial attachés abroad

The Bank has representative offices in London, New York and Tokyo. Moreover, a number of officers are seconded as financial attachés to some Italian embassies and consulates, in line with the agreement signed in July 2007 with the Ministry for Foreign Affairs with the aim to enhance institutional cooperation in the economic and financial fields.

The representative offices and financial attachés monitor macroeconomic and financial developments in the host countries, promote contacts with their monetary authorities, banking and financial institutions, and provide advice to Italian embassies.

The representative offices and financial attachés may also monitor the economies of countries other than the hosting one, in order to enhance the development of the relations with the economic and financial authorities.
