Banking Groups Supervision Department

Head - Stefano De Polis

The department performs supervision on a consolidated basis, analyses the technical situation and takes action in respect of banking groups and all the financial intermediaries they comprise, excluding asset management companies. It handles administrative proceedings and the prudential review process, cooperating with the other supervisory authorities, both in Italy and abroad, for additional oversight of financial conglomerates and the activities of the supervisory bodies of cross-border groups. It monitors the situation of foreign-owned banks and groups and Italian branches of foreign banks and intervenes at national level.

The department analyses the risks and risk management systems of banking groups and financial conglomerates and tracks the development of internal risk measurement models.
