Valeria Sannucci (Managing Director)

Born in Rome in 1953. She graduated from the University of Rome “La Sapienza” and obtained an MA in Economics from Columbia University in New York City. In 1977 she joined the Bank of Italy, working first in the Milan branch.

She later moved to the Head Office in Rome, initially to the Economic Research Department and then to the Historical Research Office.

She joined the Personnel Management Department in 1996 and has headed it since December 2006.

On 3 December 2012 he was nominated Managing Director responsible for coordinating the activities related to the Bank’s participation in the Eurosystem, including the Banking Union project.

On May 7, 2013, she was appointed Deputy Director General by the Board of Directors of the Bank of Italy (The appointment will take effect with a decree issued by the President of the Republic acting on a proposal from the President of the Council of Ministers in agreement with the Minister for the Economy and Finance after consulting the Council of Ministers).
