Career progression takes place on the basis of a number of selection mechanisms.
Employees joining the Bank in the role of Grade 2 Officer – the first step in the managerial career stream – can progress to Grade 1 Officer from their seventh year of service. After a further four years they can compete for a senior management role.
For employees engaged by the Bank as Coadjutor/Technical Coadjutor, the first major career development opportunity, for which they become eligible after at least five years of service, is the competition for entry to the managerial career stream as Grade 2 Officer/Grade 2 Technical Officer. After four years they can take part in the selection process for promotion to the role of Grade 1 Officer.
Employees entering at the level of Assistant can, after six years of service, take part in the competition for promotion to the role of Coadjutor.
Deputy Assistants, who are not recruited from within the Bank, must complete at least six years of service before obtaining promotion to the role of Assistant.
Grade 3 Production and Maintenance Workers must have at least six years of service before obtaining promotion to the next role. Grade 2 Production and Maintenance Workers must have at least three years of service before promotion to the next level.
