The exchange rates were set on a daily, weekly, fortnightly or monthly basis (depending on the currency), by using cross-rates between the U.S. Dollar/foreign currency and the U.S. Dollar/Italian Lira ratios until 31 December 1998. The rates started being set daily for each single currency on 1 January 1999, both against the Euro and the Italian Lira, with the latter quotation ending on 31 December 2001.
The rate quotations marked with note No. 74 are based on the procedures established by the ESCB.
All the other quotations are worked out from cross-rate ratios. They are merely indicative and must not be considered as official. They come from either institutional or reliable market-reflecting sources. Bank of Italy is not liable for any inaccuracy or error caused by mistake.
